Turn Back Time: Time to Fall Back and Build Ahead!

As we prepare for the time change on November 3, moving our clocks back an hour is a reminder of how seasonal changes impact our daily routines and our homes. The annual time change is more than just an extra hour of sleep, for our construction team, the shift in daylight hours means planning projects to make the most of shorter days and keeping safety top of mind as winter approaches.

The time change is also a friendly reminder of a few quick but important tasks around the house:

·        Check Those Smoke Detectors! Yes, this one is easy to forget—but don't leave your safety hanging by a "beep"! Replacing batteries twice a year keeps your smoke detectors reliable and quiet when you least expect it.

·        Adjust Timers and Outdoor Lights. For early sunsets, tweak any exterior lighting timers to ensure safe pathways after dark. It's a small adjustment that makes a big difference.

This time change tradition is a nice cue to think about home safety, a little extra rest, and, of course, double-checking that your alarm is actually set back an hour so you don’t end up at work bright and early Monday morning!
